Position Summary Position/ Job Goal: The Elementary School PYP Classroom Teacher is responsible for working collaboratively to develop and implement the Primary Years Program of the International Baccalaureate Organization. The Classroom Teacher is also responsible for creating a learning environment conducive to student learning.

Specific Responsibilities:

•   Responsible for planning collaboratively for student learning and planning based on PYP learning
outcomes.
•   Responsible for creating instructional resources for use in the classroom
•   Responsible for creating a learning environment conducive to student learning
•   Responsible for designing and creating lesson plans that actively involve students in planning their
inquiry and its assessment
•   Responsible for planning lessons based upon students prior knowledge and experience
•   Responsible for student assessment and grading
•   Responsible for planning with an emphasis on the connection between subjects
•   Responsible for planning lessons that recognize the variety of learning abilities
•   Responsible for creating instructional resources for use in the classroom.
•   Responsible for managing student behavior in the classroom

Qualification Required & Experience

•   Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in any field
•   Qualified Teacher status

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

•   Minimum of three years verifiable post qualification teaching experience
•   Experience of working in an international school environment
•   Experience of curriculum planning
•   Experience of applying differentiated teaching strategies.
•   Experience of classroom management strategies
•   Demonstrated teaching skills and effective written and oral communication skills.
•   Extensive knowledge of teaching techniques and curriculum development
•   Knowledge of key learning theories and methods of instruction
•   Ability to work well with others, be skilled in team management..
•   Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with others
