Job Vacancy For English-French Interpreter/Translator At GIMPA



Essential Duties:

•   Prepare for interpretation/translation by researching subject matter and studying text to be translated.
•   Translate speech/text by listening to speaker; understanding the thoughts expressed; incorporating cultural influences; consulting other sources as necessary; and explaining the thought in target language, while simultaneously listening to the next statement/taking notes for consecutive translation, as needed.
•   Evaluate translation by reviewing clarity and grammar; make adjustments in meaning.
•   Perform real-time interpretations in fast-paced conference setting.
•   Verify translation by proofreading translated text.

Compensation:

•   Successful applicant will receive a competitive but negotiable compensation commensurate with education and experience.

Qualification Required & Experience

•   Ability to provide interpretation and translation of the highest quality that reads and interprets as if they were crafted in the original target language.
•   Bachelor's degree.
•   Minimum of two years' experience.
•   English and French language fluency; excellent writing and communication skills in both languages
•   Strong organizational and concentration skills; high attention to detail.
•   Ability to maintain scheduling commitments.
•   Demonstrated computer skills (Microsoft Office) and familiarity with translation and interpretation tools.
