Job summary
Responsible for driving and embedding sustainability into the core of the business by providing strategic thinking and planning to exercise strategic control in required areas to advance the business ethics within area of operation. In addition, this role has oversight responsibilities of MTN foundation ensuring that all CSR projects are in line with the policy, procedures, and practices of the MTN Foundation.

Key Tasks:
Sustainability & Shared Value
•Develop and implement a sustainability strategy that aligns with the MTN’s vision, values, and objectives while incorporating regulatory requirements, MTN Ghana’s specific nuances and customers, vendors, and suppliers.
•Develop the overall roadmap, identify, and implement activities to ensure sustainability and shared value strategy is executed.
•Define and localize the group related policies, processes and policies supporting sustainability goals, environmental consciousness, digital human rights, programs, and partnerships.
•Define, deploy & manage initiatives to enhance sustainability across vendors / suppliers in Product & Services Development (Responsible Supply Chain) and customers (environmental, Social & Governance - ESG Rewards). Design the program contours in line with MTN’s overall strategic goals.
•Monitor the collection, analysis, and interpretation of the ESG compliance data in MTN Ghana. Generate reports, business intelligence and insights for management supporting the decision making and strategy review for ESG, provide inputs to improve productivity and performance.
•Drive planned strategy for the successful delivery of transformation initiatives focusing on sustainable business practices.
•Deliver business value through partnership with Ecosystem Partners
•Engage with business divisions to explore opportunities for driving shared value, including innovative solutions to local social and environmental issues.
•Ensure the implementation of core/ material issue sustainability risks and opportunities through forecasting, strategic planning, governance and oversight, policy positions, business toolkits, issue, and stakeholder management.
•Drive implementation of the eco-responsibility and sustainable product development programmes.
•Drive the implementation and management of the Group’s digital human rights, policy, processes and reporting in conjunction with the business.
•Monitor and keep MTN abreast of sustainability & sustainable development related policy, legislative and regulatory developments
•Responsible for MTN Ghana Sustainability Report and other compliance reporting required by the business.
•Evaluates efficacy of sustainability programs; recommends and implements improvements as necessary.
MTN Foundation
•Develop overall CSR strategy roadmap, programs, partnerships, and initiatives in alignment with MTN’s mission, vision values and goals
•Maintain positive relationships with government officials, community partners, NGOs, and other stakeholders to support CSI initiatives
•Ensure governance around evaluation requirements, establishment, and maintenance of systems to measure and report on CSI performance across MTN value chain,
•Put in place reporting process to ensure all stakeholders are updated on relevant CSI performance
•Ensure that portfolio of investments are aligned with the required objectives including due diligence, negotiations, and investment performance.
•Lead and provide guidance to team to identify co-funding opportunities for the foundation.
•Ensure continuous improvement and implementation of sustainability metrics to measure progress towards goals.
Qualification Required & Experience
Education:
•A Postgraduate qualification in Social Sciences / Arts or any related discipline
Experience:
•Proven strategic management of Sustainability & shared value experience.
•Senior/General Managerial experience, in a multinational environment.
•Stakeholder experience in a highly complex stakeholder environment.
•Experience in a multi regulated work environment.
