Job Summary
•Provide strategic and technical leadership as well as end-to-end accountability for the successful execution of capital technology projects that drive network modernization, transformation, and commercial readiness in line with MTN Ghana’s strategic vision.
•This role will also ensure network investments are delivered efficiently, safely, and at scale—enabling business growth, customer experience excellence, and long?term network competitiveness.

Key Tasks
Strategic Leadership Perspective
•Translate corporate and network strategy into multi?year network implementation roadmaps (radio, core, transmission, IP fibre, cloud, OSS/BSS, IT etc). This involves developing and driving the implementation strategy for high-value, complex technology project execution in alignment with business goals.
•Act as technical authority on network deployment decisions, standards, and trade?offs.
•Prioritise network projects based on business value, coverage impact, capacity demand, and revenue enablement.
•Drive technology evolution (e.g. 5G, fibre densification, network virtualization, automation) from concept to execution.
•Ensure implementation readiness for new products, services, and digital use cases.
•Build organisational capability by strengthening project governance and delivery maturity.
Financial & Investment Perspective
•Accountable for CAPEX and project OPEX associated with network implementation.
•Ensure optimal return on network investments through disciplined project execution.
•Control project costs, manage variations, and prevent cost overruns.
•Support business cases by validating technical feasibility, rollout costs, and timelines.
•Drive vendor performance against cost, quality, and delivery commitments.
•Identify opportunities for cost optimisation, sharing, and reuse of assets.
Operational & Delivery Perspective
•Own end?to?end delivery of all network implementation projects (planning, rollout, integration, acceptance, handover).
•Define and enforce projects standards around time, scope, and quality across all technology projects.
•Establish and enforce delivery methodologies, SOPs, KPIs, and quality assurance frameworks.
•Manage delivery risks, dependencies, and critical path issues across a complex project portfolio.
•Clearly define and monitor the process of seamless handover from project to operations, minimising service degradation.
•Provide the needed environment to allow for continuous improvement in deployment speed, cost efficiency, and build quality.
•Drive continuous improvement by introducing best?in?class project delivery methodologies, digital tools, automation, and performance management practices.
Technical Compliance, Risk, Safety, Governance & Standards
•Ensure project teams are fully equipped with needed knowledge, guidance, and awareness around compliance with regulatory, environmental, safety, and site?access requirements.
•Proactively identify and mitigate delivery, vendor, and technology risks. This will involve developing and enforcing a robust risk, issue, and compliance management framework across all project streams.
•Develop guidance around and monitor crisis response for critical deployment failures or network rollout incidents.
•Define and enforce network project implementation standards, architecture compliance, and vendor conformance.
•Approve technical designs, rollout approaches, and major change requests.
•Ensure alignment with Group / global network standards and regulatory requirements.
•Overall responsibility for the testing, acceptance, and certification of deployed infrastructure.
•Drive resilience, redundancy, and scalability into all network build.
Stakeholder & Partner Management
•Serve as the primary network project implementation technical interface with: Network Planning & Operations, enterprise / IT / Digital teams, Commercial, Enterprise and Group technology functions.
•Build and manage strategic relationships with OEMs, system integrators, tower companies, fibre partners, contractors, finance, and supply chain.
•Support in influence regulators and external stakeholders on deployment timelines, compliance, and approvals.
•Provide clear, reporting on delivery status, risks, and mitigation plans related to network implementation projects as requested by head of function.
•Develop and drive the strategy for technology project execution in alignment with business goals.
•Oversee the implementation of high-value, complex capital projects across technology domains (RAN, Core, Microwave Transmission, IP, IT, etc.).
•Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope and budget, and meet required quality and performance standards.
•Maintain robust governance, risk management, and reporting frameworks across all project portfolios.
•Develop and lead the execution of the Technology Projects Implementation strategy in alignment with business priorities, network transformation objectives, and customer experience targets
•Establish and enforce governance standards for project planning, budgeting, execution, risk management, and reporting across all Technology delivery portfolios
Qualification Required & Experience
Education
•Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
•Postgraduate qualification in Project Management, Business Administration, Engineering or related field.
•Project Management certification
•Agile coach/Scrum Master certification an added advantage
•Experience Minimum 10 years experience in Telecommunication management, technology and customer experience management including:
•Proven track record of successfully delivering large-scale technology or infrastructure projects.
•Relevant professional certifications in technology, telecoms, project management, or business (e.g., PMP, ITIL, Lean, etc.) are an added advantage.
•Scrum and Agile certifications are an added advantage
Professional Knowledge/Technical Competencies:
•Proven competence in large?scale network rollout and modernisation (Telecom infrastructure and technology deployment)
•Deep understanding of implementation life cycles: Telecom infrastructure and technology deployment
•Good knowledge of site acquisition, civil works, power systems, and physical infrastructure dependencies.
•Good knowledge and experience managing multi?vendor deployment environments.
•Ability to resolve complex deployment and integration challenges under time pressure.
•Strong knowledge and experience in CAPEX control
•Strong Stakeholder Management abilities
