Job Vacancy For Government Relations Specialist At Tigo Ghana



Role Purpose

To enhance the Government Relations Department's capability of effectively & efficiently functioning as the central interface for the proactive identification, management and mitigation of risks arising from the Government and Regulatory environment.

Key Responsibilities

•   Provide support for the implementation/delivery of the business’ government  relations  strategy and advice on regulatory and external  risks and opportunities facing Millicom Ghana through issues monitoring;
•   Conduct systematic stakeholder mapping /and targeted engagements  aimed at improving Millicom's relationships with the Government and influencers  within the sector;
•   Support execution  of Millicom’s Government Relations flagship agenda at the local level;
•   Provide proactive identification and input into legislative measures via Interface with Parliament (esp. the Select committee on Communications), relevant Ministries & District Assemblies;
•   Provide  sector specific Public Policy analysis and Research aimed at preempting policies with business impact and measures to mitigate against negative policies via structured engagements with policy makers.

Qualification Required & Experience

•   A first degree preferably closely related to Public Policy, International relations  or law;
•   Excellence in research, report writing, stakeholder mapping, analysis and preparation of presentations (especially for management or high level audiences);
•   Strong defense / advocacy skills for with experience dealing with governmental institutions, regulatory agencies &  high level audiences including ability to handle questions in a patient, professional and poised manner in hostile environments;
•   Proactive and self-reliant (ability to work independently with minimal supervision; initiating activities in anticipation of developments).
