Job Vacancy For Grant Manager At Challenging Heights (Winneba, Central Region)



We are looking for an enthusiastic and talented individual to help make our organisation more sustainable. The role would suit those seeking an career break able to make minimum commitment of one year.

Responsibilities

•   Working with the management team to identify organisational needs and opportunities
•   Diversifying our fundraising activities, primarily targeting large international grant-giving bodies and foundations such as the UN and EU
•   Writing grant proposals for projects that meet the organisation’s strategic aims in Protection, Education, Livelihoods and Advocacy, including:

›Seeking out new funding streams and engaging existing and potential funding partners;
›Agreeing reporting requirements with the relevant programmes staff to ensure these can reasonably be met prior to making any commitment;
›Liaising with the finance team to ensure budgets are realistic and sustainable prior to making any commitment;

•   Reporting to donors on projects in a timely and professional manner, including:

›Liaising with the finance team to ensure accounts are presented in the required format
›Submitting requests for data and narrative report contents etc from the relevant programmes staff with advance notice

•   Building sustainable relationships with funding agencies and donor partners, including:

›working with the Advocacy team and Friends of Challenging Heights to ensure a coordinated approach to financing of all core activities and programmes

Qualification Required & Experience

•   Minimum Bachelors degree
•   Proven track record in a fundraising role
•   Proven track record of writing successful grant proposals, preferably in a development context
•   Excellent written and verbal communication skills
•   Excellent time management and organisational skills
•   Excellent information technology skills including familiarity with Microsoft office
•   Ability to coordinate complex agreements
•   Ability to produce accurate budgets
•   Understanding of the development needs of underserved communities in Ghana, particularly with regard to education and child rights
•   Awareness of issues related to modern slavery both globally and in Ghana
•   Strong commitment to child rights
