A reputable financial institution in the Eastern Region is seeking an experienced candidate for the under-listed vacancy: Head, Finance

Job Summary

• Developing and implementing sound policies and internal control measures to ensure the organisation consistently meets all financial objectives and regulatory requirements
• Updating and implementing all necessary business policies, procedures and best accounting practices to improve the overall financial performance
• Preparation and timely submission of monthly, quarterly, semi-annual BSD returns
• Analysing, preparing and presenting monthly financial (variance) reports in an accurate and timely manner and clearly communicating same for the board and management use
• Supervising and providing direction for staff of the finance department and managing their performance through quarterly appraisals
• Coordinating and leading the annual audit process, liaising with external auditors and other relevant regulatory agencies
• Overseeing payroll administration and all statutory payments, including SSNIT, PAYE, WIIT.
• Overseeing and leading the annual budgeting and planning processing consultation with the General Manager and its implementation, monitoring and review
• Managing the organisation's cash flow and liquidity efficiently and prudently investing all idle/surpus funds
• Monitoring progress, as well as changes in the organisation's financial status and keep senior management and the board updated

Qualification Required & Experience

• Have a good first degree and be a fully chartered ACCA or CA or CIMA. An MBA (finance option) degree will be an added advantage
• Have a minimum of 4 years relevant post-qualification work experience, of which 2 years should have been in a senior management position
• Have demonstrable knowledge in budgeting and financial modelling
• Be able to plan, organise, execute, coordinate and evaluate financial and investment performance
• Be a person of high integrity, honesty and with dedication to service
• Be a team player, change agent, show initiative and be able to work under pressure and without supervision
• Have excellent interpersonal, analytical, verbal and written communication skills
• Be proficient in the use an Accounting software and the Microsoft Office suite, especially excel, word, PowerPoint.
• Have knowledge in IFRS
• In-depth knowledge of T24 application will be an advantage
• Must be prepared to work extra hours
