Job Description

The successful candidate will be required to:

•   Underwrite both motor and non-motor policies on behalf of the company
•   Control underwriting to ensure compliance with underwriting rules and guidelines
•   Conduct risks inspection where necessary and generate reports
•   Ensure that risks written are within acceptable limits
•   Arrange for policies to be delivered to the insured and copies signed for office file
•   Receive and handle walk-in-clients
•   Serve as customer service staff and handle their concerns
•   Liaise with reinsurance dept to ensure excess risk are placed appropriately
•   Manage, monitor and steer the underwriting portfolio to ensure sustainability and growth
•   Ensure that risk is managed optimally within the technical framework particularly in risk acceptable and underwriting appetite

Qualification Required & Experience

•   Degree in any relevant field plus a minimum of insurance certificate
•   A minimum of 5 years underwriting experience mandatory
