Responsibilities:
The Successful candidate will be responsible for:

•  Developing and administering programs to prevent accidents/incidents and loss.
•  Managing weekly, monthly and yearly HSLP internal and external reporting processes.
•  Mentoring and motivating HSLP coordinators to help increase their knowledge and skill levels within their area of work.
•  Hazard identification, risk management, safety rules and regulations, trends and statistics as well as legal compliance to Inspectorate division.
•  Managing, reviewing and auditing all accident/incident reporting and investigation process to ensure root causes are identified and corrective actions are appropriate to prevent reoccurrence.
•  Develop an audit program, conduct audits and manage the internal audit process for the IMS and HSLP Technical Standards.
•  Liaising with the Mines Inspectorate division for investigation required.
•  Maintaining awareness and understanding Environmental and Social Responsibility
•  Policy

Qualification Required & Experience

Qualifications and Skills:
As the successful candidate, it is essential you possess the following skills and experience:

•  Master’s, Bachelor’s Degree or Graduate Diploma in Health, Safety and Loss Prevention is highly preferable.
•  Minimum of 8 years of experience working in the health and safety field in an extractive industry or minimum of 10 years health and safety experience is required with 2 years management experience if you have no Degree. However continuing HSE educational programs is essential.
•  Thorough understanding of Safety Management Systems including OHSAS 18001.
•  Sound knowledge of risk management and loss prevention processes.
•  Must have accident/incident investigation experience
•  Auditing qualifications desirable.
•  Must have excellent report writing skills coupled with strong presentation, organizational and communication skills.
•  Must be competent in MS Office software.
•  Must possess a driver’s License.
•  Knowledge of relevant health and safety legislative is a requirements
