Position Summary
•The Internal Control and Stock Audit Intern provides support to the Internal Control and Stock Audit function by assisting with inventory audits, internal control reviews, compliance assessments, and operational audits across the Company's retail pharmacies, wholesale warehouse, and other operational units.
•The Intern assists in verifying inventory records, identifying stock variances, reviewing compliance with established policies and ERP processes, and documenting audit findings.
•The role offers practical exposure to internal auditing, risk management, inventory control, and corporate governance while contributing to the safeguarding of the Company's assets and the continuous improvement of operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Stock Audits
• Conduct scheduled and surprise stock audits at retail branches and wholesale warehouses.
• Verify physical stock against ERP balances.
• Perform cycle counts and stock verification exercises.
• Participate in company-wide stock takes.
Stock Variance Investigation
Investigate stock variances resulting from:
• Pilferage or theft
• Wrong stock counts
• Data entry errors
• Incomplete branch transfers
• Goods not received in ERP
• Warehouse dispatch discrepancies
• System process non-compliance
Warehouse Controls
• Verify goods receipt and dispatch processes.
• Observe stock receipts at the central warehouse.
• Review expiry and damaged stock controls.
• Verify inventory movement documentation.
ERP Compliance
Review compliance with:
• Stock receipts
• Branch transfers
• Goods issues
• Inventory adjustments
• Stock approvals
• Facility is well-maintained at all times
Qualifications
• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or Auditing.
• Basic knowledge of internal control principles and inventory management practices is desirable.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications; exposure to ERP systems is an
added advantage.
Skill and Competency Requirements
• Strong analytical and numerical skills.
• Good attention to detail and accuracy.
• Basic knowledge of auditing and internal control principles.
• Good report writing and documentation skills.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Willingness to travel to branches and warehouses when required.
