Job Vacancy For Inventory Controller



A global supplier of technology and services to customers in the processing industries requires the services of highly motivated and dynamic professionals to fill the following positions in its Accra office:- Inventory Controller

Role Overview

The role manages the company's inventory function by developing, implementing and maintaining an effective inventory management plan and coordinate requirements between demand and supply.

Key Task / Activities

•  Implement and continuously develop the inventory planning system, as well as the maintenance of stock records at the Tarkwa warehouse
•  Review, assign and process purchase requisitions for stock orders as required
•  Ensure that all stock orders are maintained with the correct system due date and that sales teams are informed of any significant changes that may affect customer requested dates.
•  Regularly review stock levels at consignment and branch locations and makes proposals on correct stocking levels.
•  Ensures forecast information is maintained in ERP system (Navision) based on information provided by sales & supply chain units
•  Provide support to financial controller on inventories and supply chain development in terms of S&OP from an inventory management point of view
•  Update inventory system & report on all key stock movement, conduct regular stock counts and reconcile figures with system quantities.
•  Generate monthly, quarterly and annual OSMI (Obsolete Inventory) lists and makes these available to the Financial Controller and other sales teams
•  Analyze reasons for OSMI growth and provide proposals on corrective actions required
•  General inventory analysis as required by management from time to time.

Essential Role Requirements

Qualification Required & Experience

•  A good bachelors degree in engineering, accounting, finance, economics or business administration
•  An advanced degree will be an added advantage
•  A minimum of 3 years relevant work experience in inventory, stores and warehouse environment, preferably in manufacturing.

Skill & Knowledge

•  Experience with mining and construction technology products
•  Experience in planning and inventory management
•  Very good oral and written communication / interpersonal skills
•  Advanced knowledge of Microsoft office applications (Excel & Word) and ERP / integrated system
•  Knowledge of navision and/or SAP ERP is required
•  Self-motivated, well organized and demonstrated ability to work independently
