Job Vacancy For IT Officer At National Inspectorate Board



The National Inspectorate Board is a newly-established agency of the Ministry of Education mandated by Parliament under the 2008 Education Act (Act 778) to provide an independent external evaluation of the quality and standards in basic and second cycle educational institutions in the country, both public and private. The main objective of the Board is to provide a diagnosis of what a school must do to improve.

In order to carry out its functions, the Board intends to constitute inspection panels that will undertake supervision and inspection visits to the schools focusing on:

•  The quality of leadership and management in the schools
•  The quality of teaching and learning
•  The standard of academic achievement
•  The academic, physical, and recreation facilities available
•  The system of internal and external examinations
•  The values emphasized and taught, and
•  The parental and community involvement in the schools

Job Summary:

The Board is now recruiting the above category of administrative and technical personnel, to support its operations.

Duties:

•  Maintain and administer computer networks and related computing environments, including computer hardware, systems software, applications software, and all configurations
•  Perform data backups and disaster recovery operations
•  Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve and system problems, and replace defective components, when necessary
•  Plan, coordinate, and implement network security measures to protect data, software, and hardware. Configure, monitor, and maintain e-mail applications or virus protection software
•  Monitor network performance to determine whether adjustments needed to be made, and to determine where changes will need to be made, in the future

Salary and Conditions of Service: Salary and conditions attached to the position is in conformity with the Single Spine Pay Policy for public sector workers

Qualification Required & Experience

•  Must have HND/Degree in ICT, or equivalent diploma
•  1-2 years working experience will be an advantage
