Job Vacancy For Junior Technical Advisor M&E (Sustainable Employment – Agribusiness (AgriBiz)



Project Brief

• AgriBiz, through its EU co-funded component in Ghana’s northwest, works to improve on quality production in the agricultural sector.
• This is achieved through the value chain development, for seven commodities (cashew, groundnuts, vegetables, mango, rice, soybean and sorghum).
• The project works with both public and private-sector partners to scale up innovations and jointly transform the sector, with agribusiness-related interventions and promotion of inclusive business models.

Scope of the Role

• The Junior Technical Advisor is primarily responsible for providing support in planning and implementing the monitoring and evaluation activities.
• The main objective is to support the M&E Unit to implement a results-based monitoring system to track progress of activities implemented and inform the management of the programme.

Tasks

• Assists in implementing M&E activities, with emphasis on resultsbased monitoring and reporting.
• Responsible for data collection, analysis and reporting according to the programme indicators
• Supports in developing relevant feedback mechanisms from monitoring and surveys to the team.
• Assists development of survey instruments, maintaining beneficiary databases and conducting spot checks.
• Assists with research activities and studies on issues which benefit joint programmes and establishes a project database.
• Assists with planning, coordinating and documenting meetings, workshops, seminars and other project activities with a focus on technical aspects.
• Supports in developing presentations for technical and steering committee meetings, as well as other meetings.
• Organises and updates programme documentation, the filing systems and the programme library.
• Performs other duties and tasks at the request of management.

Qualification Required & Experience

• University degree in Development Studies, Statistics, Agribusiness, Economics or other relevant fields.
• A minimum of 2 years post-qualification experience in the same or similar role with national or international organizations.
• Experience of data collection, cleaning, analysis and reporting, as well as research experience.
• Strong interpersonal skills with ability to work in a multicultural environment with the ability to quickly grasp complex issues.
• Experience in the agriculture and/or agribusiness sector, working with public and private sector partners
• Motivated team player with an organized, independent, systematic, proactive, detail- and results-oriented work approach
• Very good working knowledge of computer applications (e.g., MS Office) and data collection/analytic tools (e.g., Kobo Toolbox, PowerBI, SPSS)
• Strong command of English language (both written and oral) is required.
• Willingness to upskill as required by the tasks to be performed – corresponding measures are agreed with management
