Job Vacancy For Legal Expert At Ministry of Food and Agriculture



Background;
As part of programmes put in place to strengthen some Divisions in the Ministry of Food and Agriculture (MOFA), the Ministry now seeks to recruit the under-listed staff.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Legal Officer will be responsible for general legal advice and service to Management and in particular the Legal aspects of:-

•  Preparation and Interpretation of Tenancy and other Contract Agreements
•  Interpretation and advice on Legislation and allied Government directives
•  Preparation of correspondence of Legal Character
•  Advice on sanctions and other disciplinary measures and interpretation of Conditions of Service
•  Advice on Accidents and claims under the Workmen's Compensation Act, Group Personal Insurance and Labour laws in general. Insurance of property including buildings, vehicles and equipment
•  Attending meetings of committees of the Ministry and other Organizations as may be directed
•  Litigation on behalf of the Organization
•  Liaising between the Ministry and the Attorney General's Department on all Legal issues

Qualification Required & Experience

Candidates must possess the appropriate academic and professional qualification in Law (BL, LLB) with at least Fifteen (15) years post-qualification experience
