Job Vacancy For Legal Officer At Ghana Immigration Service



The Ghana Immigration Service invites applications from suitably qualified Ghanaians for recruitment.

Responsibilities:

•  Assists with the preparation and review of proposed contracts, leases, forms agreements and other legal instruments
•  Drafts, negotiates and reviews legal documents
•  Works together with departments to evaluate contracts and prepares for negotiations to improve contracts and terms and conditions
•  Provides analysis and counsel on legal issues
•  Interpretation and advice on legislation and allied government directives
•  Preparation of correspondence of legal character
•  Advises on sanctions and other disciplinary measures and interpretation of conditions of service
•  Provides legal counsel on issues arising from actual or anticipated litigation
•  Assists officers with regards to how laws impact their functional areas
•  Acts on behalf of the Service as both defense and prosecution of lawsuits
•  Works on special projects are requested
•  Performs any other duties as directed by the Head of Legal or the Director/GIS

Qualification Required & Experience

Qualifications:

•  A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Law [i.e. LLB or BA (Law)] from a recognised university, with emphasis on corporate law and regulation or its professional qualification
•  A member of the Ghana Bar Association
•  A minimum of four (4) years post-qualification work experience in corporate law and private practice

Competencies:

•  Strong analytical skills
•  Good report writing skills
•  Good understanding of law relating to property procurement, management and disposal
•  Good IT skills
•  Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
