Central University, a Chartered Christian University invites applications from qualified persons to occupy the position of: Management Accountant

Key Responsibilities

• Prepares periodic projected financial statements, including profit and loss accounts, budget, cash flows, variance analysis and commentaries
• Provides support services by working with all Directorates and Deans to help make informed financial decisions
• Ensures that spending is kept in line with the budget
• Informs key strategic decisions and formulates business strategies
• Advises on the financial implications of business decisions
• Analyses financial performance and contributes to medium and long-term financial planning and forecasts
• Offers professional judgement on financial matters and advises on ways of improviding business performance
• Monitors and evaluates financial information systems and suggests improvements where needed
• Implements corporate governance procedures, risk management and internal controls
• Controls and forecasts income and expenditure

Qualification Required & Experience

Applicants seeking appointment must have:

• Second Degree in Accounting or Finance from a reputable institution
• A professional Accountancy qualification in ACCA, ICA, preferably chartered institute of Management Accountant (CIMA)
• A minimum of 7 years of post qualification experience in a reputable institution

Essential skills, knowledge and abilities

• Proficient in spreadsheets and financial modelling
• Highly developed ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management
• Good interpersonal and leadership skills
• A high level of numeracy, data analysis, eye for detail and report writing skills
