Job Vacancy For Managing Director At Accra World Trade Centre Limited (AWTCL)

The Accra World Trade Centre Limited (AWTCL), a member of the prestigious World Trade Association (WTCA), a global network, whose membership includes over 320 World Trade Centres operating in almost 100 countries. AWTCL has the mission to integrate Ghanaian businesses into the worldwide alliance of World Trade Centres that provide businesses with services and facilities to make the conduct of international trade easier, faster and cheaper, leading to economic growth and prosperity.

Key responsibilities and duties of the role

•  Formulating and executing major strategies, goals, and objectives of the WTC Accra
•  Interpreting and implementing Board of Directors’ policies
•  Providing leadership, direction, and guidance to department heads and other employees, and leading the management team of WTC Accra in planning project roll-outs and establishing relevant deadlines
•  Monitoring, analyzing, and evaluating the effectiveness of all departments and units
•  Securing and maintaining funding for the WTC Accra’s operations
•  Ensuring efficiency and professionalism in service delivery
•  Representing WTC Accra to government and regulatory agencies, members, and the business community
•  Developing partnerships with relevant organizations to advance the objectives of WTC Accra
•  Developing appropriate literature and ensuring effective communication with all stakeholders
•  Identifying staffing requirements and ensuring adequacy of human capital resources
•  Representing and promoting WTC Accra and its objectives to the general public
•  Generating annual and monthly plans and performance reports for the Board of Directors
•  Ensuring that WTC Accra’s business and professional reputation is maintained and projected.

Qualification Required & Experience

•  A master’s degree in international trade, economics or business administration
•  A minimum of 10 years’ experience in international business development, project management, research or consulting


•  Fluency in French and other major international languages

Specific knowledge/experience/qualities required for this role

•  Excellent organizational, managerial, research, strategic planning and analytical skills
•  Proficiency in all relevant personal computer applications, ability to learn and work with a bespoke database and good working knowledge of MS Word, Excel and Outlook
•  Outstanding communication, public speaking and presentation skills
•  Commercial awareness and experience in budgeting and financial reporting
•  Energetic personality with excellent negotiation skills
•  Problem solving and critical thinking skills
•  Ability to work under pressure in a busy environment
•  Outstanding imagination and attention to detail
•  Ability to create and maintain accurate paper records
