Job Title: Mining Technology Enabled Solutions (METS) Specialist

Location: Ghana

Purpose of role

The MTES Specialist provides unique expertise on Mining Technology Enabled Solutions (MTES) to customers and Mantrac teams, and in support to varied technical and solution aspects throughout pre-sales and post-sales stages. Therefore, The MTES Specialist is an essential partner of sales teams in MTES and Mining, as well as of Product Support teams in the commer cialisation and successful implementation of MTES offerings.

Key Objectives

• Provide unparalleled expertise on MTES offerings to customers and Mantrac teams;
• Conduct Customer Level demonstrations and proof of concepts:
• Design highly effective, tailored solutions to customers;
• Assist sales teams in the completion of responses for tenders;
• Act as the main link to Caterpillar technical MTES teams;
• Oversee stability and delivery of running MTESinstalled base;

MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Technical Expertise

• Maintain unparalleled expertise of evolving MTES offerings through online self-study, formal training events and other applicable programs;
• Maintain technical knowledge of MTES hardware, software and installation requirements and procedures;
• Maintain a working knowledge of competitor offerings in mining technology:

Post-Sales

• Lead MTES implementation projects
• Maintain deployed MTES solutions
• Maintain and develop server platforms for the analysis and reporting of data, including but not limited to Minestar, regardless of physical server location.

Engagement & Communication

• Via mining sales and Business channels engage with mining customers, at all levels to gather required data to design MTES solutions and communicate value propositions;
• Communicate all MTES related updates and develop ments to relevant internal contacts;
• Engage with technical MTES teams to further the sales process and support existing customers;
• Engage with Caterpillar support teams in maintenance of deployed MTES solutions;

Technical Expertise

• Maintain unparalleled expertise of evolving MTES offerings through online self-study, formal training events and other applicable programs;
• Maintain technical knowledge of MTES hardware, software and installation requirements and procedures;
• Maintain a working knowledge of competitor offerings in mining technology

Qualification Required & Experience

Experience
Essential

• Minimum of 5 years of professional work experience
• Experience working cross-functionally, across multiple countries and with third-party vendors

Desirable

• Previous exposure to commercial functions and product management;
• Good command of design language;
• Process improvement

Knowledge

• In depth understanding of technical component based design processes
• Good understanding of essential marketing disciplines;
• Good understanding of Caterpillar machine application and mining environment processes and procedures
• Proficiency at communication and content production;
• Enable to interpret caterpillar wiring schematics and determine connection points for system interfaces

Skills

• Excellent communicator
• Proficient on data manipulation tools such as MS Excel and Access:

Qualifications

• BSc Mechanical/Agric/ Automotive/ Electrical Engineering.
• An excellent IT background & skills or similar professional experience
