The University was established in 200, by University of Mines and Technology, Tarkwa Act, 2004 Act 677. The vision of the University is to become a Centre of Excellence in Ghana and Africa for producing world-class professionals in the field of mining, technology and related disciplines. The mission of the University is to provide higher education with special reference to mining and related fields; promote knowledge through active research; and provide professional services to the national and international communities through extension activities.

Description Of Job

Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for the above position in the University.

Duties:

•  General Administration of the Transport Unit of the University with the responsibility for repairs, maintenance and smooth running of the University's fleet of vehicles
•  Responsibilities for training, efficiency and discipline of subordinate staff

Qualification Required & Experience

•  Must have had a minimum of five (5) years' continuous and satisfactory service as Senior Assistant Transport Officer in the University or an analogous institution plus Final Certificate of the City and Guilds of London Institute; in Transport Management or Automobile Engineering or Mechanical Engineering or
•  Higher National Diploma or its equivalent plus 8 years' practical experience in a position of responsibility within a large transport organization; or
•  A relevant bachelor's degree awarded by a recognized University with at least four (4) years' working experience in a position of responsibility within a large transport organization
•  In all cases, applicants must have a driver's license F1, F2, F3
