Job Vacancy For Process Compliance Administrator At Keegan Resources Ghana Ltd



Keegan Resources Ghana Ltd. ("KRGl") is a fully-owned subsidiary of Asanko Gold Inc., a company which is building the Asanko Gold Mine, Ghana's next gold mine. The vision of Asanko is to become a mid-tier gold mining company that maximizes value for all stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

•   Advise and assist the Processing Department and contractors on the implementation of programs to ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and standards;
•   Conduct environmental inspections and schedule audits at the Process Plant and related facilities, and at relevant contractors work areas in accordance with Asanko Environmental Management Systems and Ghanaian regulatory requirements;
•   Prepare reports and close out corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence;
•   Participate in the Environmental Risk Assessment process and coordinate the development of action plans to address and minimize significant environmental risks identified during risk assessment process;
•   Ensure compliance to the Environment Management System and participate in system audits;
•   Monitor Environmental indicators and perform environmental metrics of the assigned areas on monthly basis;
•   Participate in team based environmental risk assessments at the Process Plant and its related ancillary infrastructure;
•   Ensure environmental programs for waste management, sediment control, air quality, water quality among others are implemented and adhered to at the process plant and its related facilities, to satisfy high environmental quality standards stated by company and regulatory bodies;
•   Assist in the preparation of compliance based data trending report;
•   Participate in Emergency response activities;
•   Coordinate data collection from Obotan Mine Site Operations to support preparation of required reports/documents to satisfy legal and regulatory reporting requirements;
•   Understand the environmental impact of work activities, the environmental requirements of Standard Operating Procedures and the relevant elements of the management system that applies to the role.

Qualification Required & Experience

•   Degree in Environmental Management/Science or other science related field such as Mineral Processing, Geology, Chemistry, or engineering;
•   At least three (3) years environmental management working experience in mining or related industrial operations;
•   Demonstrate a thorough understanding of Ghanaian Environmental Regulations as they apply to mining operations;
•   Demonstrate a thorough understanding of ISO14001 Environmental Management Standards;
•   Problem solving and decision making skills;
•   Ability to apply knowledge of standards, methods and procedures to work situation;
•   Excellent verbal and written English communication skills;
•   Strong computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, database management and GIS knowledge.
•   Strong organizational and interpersonal skills;
•   Valid Ghanaian Driver’s license.
