Agence Franchise de Developpement (AFD), the French Development Agency in Accra, is an international financing agency with 30 years of existence in Ghana.The Group and its subsidiary Proparco,focusing on the private sector, have their activities in Ghana concentrated on four sectors: Agriculture, Urban development. Energy and Private Sector.

Job Summary

Currently, AFD is seeking a qualified professional to take up the position of PROJECT OFFICER in charge of Private Sector and Non-sovereign activities.

The successful candidate will mainly be in charge of the following:

•   Management of PROPARCO and AFD private sector portfolio

He or she will have to develop and maintain close relationship with project promoters, private businesses, both Proparco andAFD's partners in the banking sector, ensure risk management, manage loan repayments, monitor disbursements with loan admin officers, manage AFD guarantee scheme (ARIZ) and capacity building projects for Trade and Export Sector.

•   Identification and inception of new projects

He or she will have to be proactive in identifying business opportunities and carrying out prior appraisal of investment proposals of private sector projects or non-sovereign loans by analysing feasibility reports; drafting feasibility reports, notes, term-sheets and other related documents;organising missions from the Head Office,and preparing reports to Proparco or AFD Head Office and act as a focal person for the private sector and non-sovereign loans.

•   The incumbent will report directly to the Deputy Resident Manager and/or the Resident Manager.

Qualification Required & Experience

•   Master of Business Administration or equivalent postgraduate qualification in relevant field
•   At least 5 years of experience in Project finance, Project and credit analysis, preferably in the banking sector
•   Very good oral and written communication skills in both English and French
•   Sound negotiation and collaborative skills as well as a very good ability to work independently
•   Good knowledge of the Ghanaian business environment
•   Excellent sector network relationship and a computer literate with finest knowledge in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
