Job Vacancy For Records Officer At Medical and Dental Council Ghana

The Organization:
The Medical and Dental Council is the regulatory body responsible for securing in the public interest the highest standards in the practice of Medicine and Dentistry in Ghana.

Job Summary

In order to improve service delivery the Council intends to recruit the above officers for its Secretariat in Accra and Zonal Secretariats to be created in Tamale and Kumasi.

Designation: Records Officer
Reports to: Head (Registration and Licensing Department)

Job Purpose:
To manage electronic and physical records of registered practitioners.

Key Responsibilities:

•  Provide timely, up-to-date and relevant technical advice on registration and enforcement issues to the Deputy Registrar, other managers and Zonal Officers
•  Collate, screen and manage the inventories of all documents for registration, renewal and disciplinary actions
•  Prepare working documents and plan the work schedules for the Court of Examiners and General Purpose Committee
•  Keep records on regulations and procedures for disciplinary actions, sanctions and penalties and update Council's IT inventory, Practitioners and staff database;
•  Initiate development and implementation of policies/innovations that improve the quality of licensing and enforcement in accordance with MDC requirements

Compensation: Salaries and conditions of service as prevail in the public service. Placement on the Salary scale is negotiable and will depend on experience

Qualification Required & Experience

•  University Diploma/HND (Records/Administration/Management) or Diploma in Information Technology from West African Examinations Council
•  Completion of National Service
•  Knowledge and skill in planning, execution of projects and submission of reports
•  Proven efficiency in Records Management and administrative procedures
•  Skillful in MS applications (Word, Excel and Power-Point)
