Job Vacancy For Recreation Assistant Manager



A luxurious and fast growing hospitality company located in the Okere District Eastern region is currently looking for experienced Sports and Recreation Assistant Manager.

The selected candidate will be undertaking the following assigned job duties: ASSISTANT RECREATION MANAGER

GENERAL PURPOSE

• Assists in the planning, organizing, coordinating and supervision of the physical activities at all recreational facilities within the Hotel.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED

• Works under the general supervision of the Recreation Manager.

SUPERVISION EXERCISED

• Supervises recreation employees, part-time recreation staff, special interest instructors, seasonal Employees, and volunteers, as assigned by the Recreation Manager in accordance with policies established by the Hotel.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manages and supervises assigned operations in accordance with the Resort Recreation Standard of Operating Procedures SOP's.
• Manage and supervises assigned operations to achieve goals within available resources; plans and organizes workloads and staff assignments; trains, motivates and evaluates assigned staff; reviews progress and directs changes as needed.
• Plans, conducts and/or supervises and reviews all recreational activities and events scheduled at the Hotel.
• Ensures maintenance procedures and health and safety measures are adhered to during all recreational activities and events.
• In conjunction with the Recreation Manager, provides leadership and direction in the development of short and long range plans; gathers, interprets, and prepares data for studies, reports and recommendations;coordinates department activities with other departments and agencies as needed.
• Communicates official plans, policies and procedures to staff.
• Assures that assigned areas of responsibility are performed within budget; performs cost control activities;monitors expenditures in assigned area to assure sound fiscal control.
• Determines work procedures, prepares work schedules, and expedites workflow; studies and provides input in the compilation of standard operating procedures to improve efficiency and effectiveness of operations.
• Issues written and oral instructions; assigns duties and examines work for exactness; neatness, and conformance to policies and procedures.
• Manage and supervise the use of all recreation equipment at all times within the Hotel, and also prepare a well cost effective maintenance schedule for all recreation equipment and logistics
• Coordinates and/or conducts sports/fitness programs for Day Visitor Groups and in-house Guests including Team Building activities for Conference bookings, Health retreats etc. Coordinates team building activities for Resort Personnel.
• Any other duty assigned by the Recreation Manager such as performing a variety of miscellaneous duties such as answering phone, typing correspondence, running errands, picking up supplies needed for activities, conducting arts/crafts activities for children, making arrangements for use of Recreation Facilities.

Qualification Required & Experience

REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelors/Masters Degree in Sports Management, Coaching, Physical Education or Sports Administration
• First Aid and CPR certification.
• Medically and Physically fit
• No Criminal Background
• Ability to drive with a valid license
• Willing to Relocate to Akuapim/Okere District

NECESSARY KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES;

• Considerable knowledge of recreation philosophy, planning and administration; Considerable knowledge of the equipment, facilities, operations and techniques used in a comprehensive recreation program.
• Skills in operation of listing tools and equipment; Skill in First Aid and CPR.
• Ability to develop, coordinate, conduct and direct varied activities involved in a recreation program;
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients, colleagues, employees,supervisors, other agencies, participants, instructors, community leaders, and the general public;
• Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing; Ability to plan and supervise the work of paid staff and volunteers.
• Knowledge of rules for different sports; various fitness activities; basic record keeping and arithmetic; basic budget practices; training and supervising part-time employees and independent contractors.
