Job Vacancy For Regional Learning Facilitator At International Water and Sanitation Centre (IRC)



The International Water and Sanitation Centre (IRC) is leading multi-country six year international learning initiative known as Sustainable Services at Scale (Triple-S), to improve water supply to the rural poor.  Triple-S seeks to promote and support processes aimed at moving from project-based one off construction of water systems to water services that last.  Operating under the auspices of the Community Water and Sanitation Agency in Ghana and in partnership with other country stakeholders, the Triple-S Project is working within existing country frameworks to test models that will ensure sustainable water service delivery in Ghana..  It is expected that results/innovations from the piloting will inform the adaptation of policies and practices for delivering water services in Ghana.

Description Of Job

Reporting:
Functionally report to CWSA Regional Director in the Brong Ahafo Region, but receive professional and supervisory direction from the Country Team Leader of the Triple-S initiative.

Job Purpose:
Represent Triple-S & IRC, Ghana in the assigned region and have overall responsibility for the operation of Triple-S and other relevant IRC programmes at that level with the objective of supporting the delivery of sustainable WASH services to communities in the region.

His/her responsibilities have a strong emphasis on piloting interventions aimed at sustainable service delivery including establishing and facilitating learning and documentation processes, research, and capacity building for key stakeholders in the WASH sector at the regional, district and water system level. Together with the other team members, he/she also be involved in developing the project strategy and supporting implementation of a variety of project activities

The Ideal Candidate will:

•  Lead in establishing and facilitating Regional & District Learning Alliance (LA) processes
•  Undertake action research activities in assigned zone around water service delivery approaches
•  Facilitate the conduct of institutional strengthening interventions to enhance the capacity of DWDs, service providers and civil society in pilot districts to deliver improved and efficient water services
•  Undertake communication & awareness creation activities around key water service delivery messages and themes within the assigned zone
•  Document local learning processes and events within the assigned zone
•  Support by contributing to development of papers on sustainable water service delivery approach based on learning and innovations from pilot districts
•  Support by contributing to the development of the project implementation strategy and plan
•  Compile comprehensive annual and four monthly reporting on activities int he assigned zone

Contract Period: The position will be on two year renewable contracts, subject to good performance

Qualification Required & Experience

The ideal candidate must have:

•  Masters Degree in Development Studies, Community and Adult Education, Social Sciences, Engineering and Planning or related field with minimum of seven years professional working experience or a Masters degree in Water Supply and Environmental Sanitation, Environmental Science, Water and Environmental Management, etc with 5 years experience
•  Demonstrated experience in Participatory research and analytical skills
•  Process documentation skills
•  Facilitation and coaching skills
•  Communication and writing skills

Other Requirements:

•  Ghanaian nationality
