Job Vacancy For Registrar At Evangelical Presbyterian University College (Ho)



The Office of the REGISTRAR of the Evangelical Presbyterian University College will become vacant on September 1, 2015 and applications are invited from suitably qualified persons to fill the position.

The Registrar:

•   Shall be appointed by the University College Council.
•   Is Secretary to the University College Council.
•   Shall be the Chief Administrative Officer of the President and the University College and Shall be responsible to the President for the general administration of the University College
•   Shall assist in developing the framework within which policies of the University College shall be made
•   Shall be a member of Senate and serve as member on Committees of Council and Senate
•   Shall assist in the interpretation and application of the University College's policies, rules and proceedings terms and conditions and scheme of service for staff.
•   Shall ensure the availability of all services and equipment necessary to support administrative and academic programmes of the University College.
•   Shall be responsible to the President for compliance with public industrial legislation, and for human resource management and development including staff recruitment, training, appraisal, promotion, transfer and discipline.
•   Shall continually monitor and improve upon the flow of information and action within the University College.
•   Shall be responsible for providing secretarial services for all Boards and Committees of the University College
•   Shall be advisor to the President in the discharge of his/her duties
•   Shall ensure the implementation and enforcement of the rules and regulations and decisions of the appropriate University Board/Committee or Officers of competent authority

Terms of Appointment:

•   The appointment shall be by tenure for a suitable candidate who has not attained sixty (60) years of age subject to good health and satisfactory performance of duties.
•   A suitably qualified candidate who has attained the age of sixty (60) years or above may be appointed on contract for a period of not more than four (4) years, subject to good health and satisfactory performance of duties
•   Salary and Conditions of Service attached to the position are reasonably attractive These will include provision of furnished residential accommodation and a car to be maintained and run by the University College

Qualification Required & Experience

•   Must have a minimum of a Masters degree.
•   Must have not less that twelve (12) years post qualification working experience in a higher education or analogous institution four (4) of which should be at the Deputy Registrar or equivalent level.
•   Must have extensive Knowledge of the tertiary education landscape in Ghana.
•   Must have a good understanding of the work, rules, procedures and practices of a higher academic institution especially one in its formative years
•   Must be aware of global trends and challenges in higher education.
•   Must be able to provide leadership and inspire confidence, as well as direct and motivate staff of the University College.
•   Must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and must be a team player
•   Must be a practicing Christian of the Protestant faith and be. preferably, a member of the Evangelical Presbyterian Church, Ghana
•   Must be dynamic, and a visionary
•   Must have Strategic Planning Skills
•   Must be adequately computer literate (ICT and e-administration)
