Job Vacancy For Regulatory Officer – Nuclear Security



The Nuclear Regulatory Authority (NRA) is an independent regulatory body established by the NRA Act, 2015 (Act 895) and began operations in January 2016. The NRA has a statutory responsibility for regulating civilian use of nuclear and other radioactive materials in medicine,
industry, agriculture, education and research in Ghana. This is to ensure the protection of people and the environment from the harmful effects of radiation.

The NRA is seeking to recruit to fill various positions in its organisational structure and hereby invites qualified Ghanaians to apply for the position of Regulatory Officer – Nuclear Security.

Job Summary

• Candidate will support in the development of security regulations and guideline documents for nuclear and radiological facilities. In addition, he/she will conduct review and assessments of licensee submittals, and conduct periodic inspections of facilities to ensure compliance of facilities with nuclear security requirements.
• The candidate will also be involved in the conduct of threat assessment; and development and implementation of design basis threat and alternate threat statements.

Qualification Required & Experience

• Minimum of Masters in nuclear security or related security degree, nuclear engineering, and other related subjects.

Location: Kwabenya, Accra
