We are looking for self-motivated professional journalists or communications specialists with excellent editorial and good team playing skills and sound understanding of writing for the Daily Graphic, Graphic Showbiz, Junior Graphic and Graphic Online.

Key Accountabilities

•   Collect, write and prepare a variety of stories and features for publication in the newspapers and website both in general and specialized areas such as arts, entertainment and youth
•   Collect information necessary to compile stories from field research and desk based / web research
•   Edit and proofread stories
•   Work in groups on special stories / investigations when required
•   contribute suggestions to the development of the website
•   Advise editor on resource needs and industry trends / competition
•   Contribute marketing ideas to position the newspaper brands and website as preferred products to our customers

Skills / Competencies

•   Excellent written and verbal communication skills
•   Must have a keen interest in arts and entertainment
•   Good report writing skills
•   Analytical with an eye for detail
•   Ability to work to strick timelines and for long periods
•   Flexible attitude to working arrangements
•   Strong computer literacy skills
•   Research skills desirable

Qualification Required & Experience

•   1st Degree in Communication / Journalism Studies with 2 years working experience on newspaper or online journalism
OR
•   Diploma in Journalism from a reputable institution with 4 years working experience. 2 years working experience on newspaper or online journalism
