Job Vacancy For Risk Manager



A reputable general insurance company is seeking to recruit results-oriented persons for the following position: Risk Manager

Key Responsibilities

Risk Identification and Assessment

• Identifies potential risks to the company's operations, financial performance and reputation
• Conducts risk assessments to determine the likelihood and impact of identified risks
• Develops and maintain a risk register to track and monitor identified risks

Risk Management Strategy and Policy

• Develops and implement a comprehensive risk management strategy and policy that aligns with the company's overall business objectives
• Develops systems to manage the company's risks including insurance risks in the areas of product design, pricing and underwriting risk, market risk including investment and liquidity, operational risk including legal, regulatory risk, contagion and related party risk, strategic risk and other risks as may be determined by the business

Risk Mitigation and Control

• Develops and implements risk mitigation and control measures to minimize the impact of identified risks
• Monitors and reviews the effectiveness of risk mitigation and control measures

Compliance and Regulatory Requirements

• Ensures that the company complies with all relevant regulatory requirements, including the insurance act 2021, act 1061 and other industry regulations
• Stays up-to-date with changes in regulatory requirements and industry best practices

Risk Reporting and Monitoring

• Prepares and submit regular risk reports to the Chief Executive Officer
• Monitors and tracks key risk indicators (KRIs) to identify trends and potential risks

Training and Awareness

• Ensure that risk management policy is communicated to all employees and stakeholders
• Develops and delivers training progams to educate employees on risk management principles, policies and procedures
• Promotes a risk-aware culture within the company

Audit and Assurance

• Collaborates with internal audit and external audit teams to ensure that risk management processes are effective and compliant with regulatory requirements
• Participates in audit and assurance activities to identify areas for improvement

Information Security and Data Protection

• Ensures that the company's information security and data protection policies and procedures are aligned with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
• Monitors and reviews the effectiveness of information security and data protection measures

Stakeholder Engagement

• Engages with stakeholders, including employees, customers and regulators to ensure that risk management practices are transparent and effective

Qualification Required & Experience

• At least a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics or Business Administration from a reputable institution
• Professional certification in Enterprise Risk Management
• An advanced degree from a reputable institution will be added advantage
• At least 5 years of experience in the field of enterprise risk management from the financial services industry, preferably from an insurance company, with at least 3 years in a managerial/leadership position
