Job Vacancy For Safety Officer At Gold Fields Ghana Ltd (Tarkwa)



Position: Safety  Officer - Fixed Term Contract (2 yrs)
Department: Projects (TEP 6)

Gold Fields Ghana is seeking to employ a dedicated and self-motivated individual to fill the position of a Safety Officer. The successful appointee will be responsible for the monitoring, recording and implementing OHS interventions in accordance with the Gold Fields Health and Safety Management System.

Qualification Required & Experience

Key requirements:

•  Relevant tertiary qualification from a recognized institution
•  Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety Management and/or other relevant legislative requirements
•  Certificate in Hazard Identification and risk assessment
•  Minimum 2 years relevant work experience in a mining environment
•  Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
•  Ability to work on the job with less or no supervision
•  Good analytical, interpersonal and organizational skills
•  Sound knowledge of relevant legislation and mine standards and codes of practice
•  Well-developed oral and written communication skills as well as the ability to interact with people of diverse background and level
•  Competency Certificates in Fire Fighting will be an advantage
•  Medical fitness for the position and environment
•  Valid Ghanaian driver's license and proficiency in driving light vehicles
