The Ministry of Education invites interested and qualified applicants to apply for: School Safety Coordinator

Job Purpose

• To establish systematic guidelines for the development of an integrated and comprehensive school safety policies and plans

Duties and Responsibilities

• Leads the development and enforcement of safety and security standards and policies to promote congenial atmosphere for teaching and learning
• Develop strategies to coordinate emergency response programmes between the school and inter-governmental agencies including evacuation procedure and signaling and early waning systems
• Coordinate regional and district safety programmes including supervision/assessment of general building conditions, site based emergency response programmes and facilitate school based safety and security educational programmes
• Develop guidelines for the disposal of unneeded chemicals, pesticide application and verify licenses of applicators delivering services on school grounds
• Plan and organise yearly safety audit in consultation with emergency service providers
• Investigate safety issues, advised on insurance policies for students, workers, facilities and ensure compliance with insurance company recommendations

Qualification Required & Experience

• Must possess a relevant Master's Degree with research experience from an accredited tertiary institution
• A minimum of 10 years of post qualification relevant working experience
