A reputable company invites applications from suitably qualified candidates to fill the following position: Senior Civil Engineer

Job Purpose

•Implement approved civil engineering policies and standards on assigned construction sites and monitor to ensure that completed projects satisfy approved specifications, designs, cost, time, quality and local / international accepted building codes / standards

Job Responsibilities

•Implements approved strategies, plans, policies, standard operating procedures (SOPs), work plan, control systems and other monitoring mechanisms to facilitate construction activities
•Implements approve health and safety policy, guidelines and practices on construction sites to ensure compliance
•Coordinates with surveyors and architects to confirm technical specifications and prepare for approval engineering design and documents for construction projects
•Works with surveyors to lay out installations and establish reference points, grades and elevations to guide construction works
•Studies project concepts, architectural drawings and models and report on findings to facilitate the designs of construction projects
•Undertake research to identify appropriate building and construction materials for proposed projects and report on findings
•Participates in the estimation of materials quantities, equipment's, labour etc
•Vets construction design reports submitted by consultants/contractors to identify any potential risks and challenges
•Participates in site investigations to verify feasibility, key variables and changes to be done on proposed sites prior to construction works
•Keeps up to date knowledge of modern types of construction methods, techniques and tools to enhance construction activities
•Conducts market survey to identify potential contractors, sub-contractors, suppliers etc for civil engineering/construction works
•Gathers data / information for the preparation of tender and Bid documents for civil engineering/construction works

Qualification Required & Experience

•Bachelor's Degree or its equivalent qualification in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering or related discipline
•Membership of a recognised professional body

Experience

•Minimum of 5 years relevant working experience in related role
