A reputable licensed Cocoa Buying Company is seeking applications from suitably qualified candidates for the under listed position:  Society Development Officers

Job Description

•   Mobilizing and organizing cocoa farmers
•   Promoting the formation of Farmer Associations and constituting or resuscitating District and Regional Farmer Associations
•   To register and build a database of members of Farmer Associations
•   Disseminating information on and educating farmers on modern sustainable methods in cocoa production
•   Implementing policies of the company on enhancing sustainable production of quality Cocoa by members of its farmer associations
•   Seeking and promoting and promoting the welfare of the members of farmer associations
•   To facilitate technical support (extension Services) for members of the company's farmer associations
•   Assisting existing and new districts in their society outreach activities and equipping District Managers with the skills in recruiting good Purchasing Clerks
•   Gathering market/industry relevant intelligence or information and recommending for consideration appropriate market infiltration strategies. Promoting the brand of the company within the operational communities of the company.

Qualification Required & Experience

•   Must have a first degree or HND from a recognized institution preferably in the areas of Agricultural Economics, Rural Development Studies, Marketing and Social Sciences
•   Must have completed National Service
•   Must be computer literate (Ms excel and word)
•   Should be willing to travel to remote cocoa growing communities on short notice
•   Must have good interpersonal and communication skills
•   Must have good organizational abilities
