OBJECTIVE OF THE ROLE

•Deliver a complete suite of cost-control services and estimation support for projects.
•Develop and implement cost management processes and provide accurate and timely cost information to project managers, stakeholders, and other members of the project team.

ROLE ACCOUNTABILITIES

•Demonstrate and uphold AngloGold Ashanti’s values in all decisions, actions, and professional conduct.

•Develop conceptual and detailed project cost models, prepare business plans, and set project control budgets using technical specifications.
•Prepare and update timely project cost reports, forecasts, cash flow projections, variance and trend analysis for management and stakeholders, explaining risk positions.
•Coordinate development and implementation of project work breakdown structure and cost breakdown structure in consultation with Project Leads and the Project Planning and Scheduling team.
•Coordinate and develop appropriate control budgets consistent with project estimates and the work breakdown structure and cost breakdown structure.
•Implement and monitor costs within each project stage and across the full project lifecycle until completion or close-out.
•Perform quality assurance on contractor cost-management performance.
•Coordinate or develop appropriate internal and external benchmarking and technical limits.
•Coordinate preparation of project cost risk analysis.
•Review financial data related to accruals, invoice payments, purchase orders, material deliveries, and other financial data.
•Provide cost input to and implement the cost element of the change management procedure.
•Coordinate and develop project work-in-place, commitment, and estimate at complete forecast.
•Coordinate and develop project annual-spend projections, cost reconciliations, and variance analysis.
•Provide interface to other functions and teams to improve processes, resolve conflicting priorities, and ensure adherence to best project practices.
•Prepare and implement project-wide cost measurement and reporting systems, including roll-up levels and reporting cycles.
•Support project budget estimates and cost control.
•Support project change management.
•Support approval processes for contractor payments, progress claims, and invoicing.
•Undertake monthly reconciliation and monthly cost forecasting.
•Provide information aligned to project planning guidelines and procedures, evaluations, and resource control strategies.
•Support reporting aligned to weekly, monthly, and 12-week schedules, reconciliation processes, schedule compliance, and daily and monthly reporting.
•Support project handovers and closures.

Qualification Required & Experience

•Tertiary qualification in Engineering, including Mining, Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, or a related discipline.
•PMP or GHIE certification is an advantage.
•Valid Ghanaian manual driver's licence as required by site.

Experience

•Minimum 4 years’ proven experience in Engineering or Mining cost modelling.
•Exposure to underground or process plant infrastructure planning is desirable.
•Working knowledge of capital project evaluation, cost control, and project governance.

Knowledge & Skills

•Excellent communication skills with exposure to alliance-style contractor-owner environments and cross-functional collaboration.
•Understanding of project scopes, sequencing, and cost alignment within operational schedules.
•Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, particularly MS Excel, and familiarity with Xeras is an advantage.
•Strong written and verbal communication skills to support planning discussions and documentation.
•Analytical mindset with attention to estimation accuracy, compliance, and execution requirements.
•Capable of using a computer for extended periods in an office environment.
•Physically fit to meet site medical and functional capacity requirements.
