Responsibilities

• Provide specialist skills, integrity and knowledge in key areas of subsea structures engineering, including design codes, legislative requirements and current good engineering practice
• Undertake responsibility for production of deliverables, which includes preparation and checking of design reports, engineering support to Drawing office, design calculations, specifications, procedures, analyses, progress reports, bid evaluation, study reports and various third-party submissions
• Provide in-place design, transportation, lifting analysis and sea fastening design of the offshore structure for projects using various software packages
• Design and detailing in accordance with acknowledged including feasibility reports, detailed design reports, equipment specifications etc
• Production of specifications, data sheets and MTOs
• Review engineering drawings and provide technical support to fabrication sites
• Support packages engineering and management on large structural material procurement packages
• Provide structural analysis for various subsea structures, rigging/lifting equipment and sea fastening arrangements utilising NSO, STAAD Pro, FS2000 and ABAQUS or similar software
• Coordinate structural engineering support to the execution of multi-discipline projects in line with defined budget and schedule
• Understanding of Piping, Connector Types, Valves and forgings
• Liaise with associated subsea related disciplines and understand the interfaces within a project
• Provide structural support to Business Acquisition and feed study execution
• Coach and mentor junior graduate engineers
• Actively participate in relevant training to pursue continuing professional development

Qualification Required & Experience

• Degree qualified, preferably in structural/civil engineering or equivalent
• 5 years practical industrial experience (postgraduate scheme or equivalent) in relevant industry
• Experience in grillage and sea fastening design of structures and other transported items
• Experience of either offshore support or within fabrication yards
• Membership of a relevant professional body
• Engineering experience within the subsea industry (EPC/EPC previous experience ideally)
• Familiarity with recognised industry engineering software

Key Skills and Experience

• Relevant engineering experience witin the Oil and Gas industry, ideally subsea structural design and analysis
• Familiarity of industry codes (API, AISC, DNY) standards and design guidelines
• Advanced knowledge in the use of 3D Finite Element analysis for the design of subsea components such as Mudmat, Yoke, Achor Flanges, Bulkheads etc
• Deliver structural analysis work on project
• Ability to support package engineering and management
• Acquisition and feed study execution
• Efficient use of the following software, NSO, STAAD Pro, FS2000 and ABAQUS or similar
• Excellent communication, collaboration skills, both written and verbal
• Competent with up-to-date computer applications including MS Word, Excel and Mathcad
• Ability to solve complex technical problems and be originator author of client issued TQ's/DVR's
• Proven track record within previous/current employment
• Ability to prioritise and organise work
