Job Vacancy For Gender Specialist At Chemonics International



Chemonics International Inc. seeks a Gender Specialist for the recently awarded five-year, USAID-funded Ghana Feed the Future Agriculture Policy Support (Ghana FtF-APS) Project. The Ghana FtF-APS project aims to increase the capacity of the government of Ghana, the private sector, and civil society organizations in evidence-based policy formation, implementation, research and advocacy and in rigorous monitoring and evaluation of agricultural programs under the Medium Term Agriculture Sector Investment Plan. The Gender Specialist will play an integral role in the APS staff to ensure gender and nutrition mainstreaming into all APSP activities in a meaningful and effective way.

Responsibilities will include but not limited to:-

•   Roll out gender indicators, institutional activities and project outreach schemes as outlined in the APSP Gender strategy
•   Develop training materials and facilitate quarterly training to APSP staff and relevant stakeholders on gender mainstreaming activities
•   Provide recommendations on an ongoing basis of how to integrate gender and nutrition considerations into APSP activities.

Qualification Required & Experience

The Gender Specialist should have extensive experience in gender integration activities, training, capacity building and outreach, along with experience working ni the Ghanaian context. Qualifications include:

•   Minimum 3-5 years of experience working on gender integration for USAID or donor-funded programs, with demonstrated experience in gender integation activities, training, capacity building and outreach activities
•   Demonstrated experience in successfully implementing a Gender Strategy for a donor-funded project
•   Strong written and oral communications skills
•   Fluent spoken and written English

Duration of Contract: This will be a 1-year contract, based in Accra, Ghana.
