A Multi-National Gold Mining company operating in Ghana is looking for Ghanaian nationals with the requisite qualifications to apply for the following position: General Foremen - Mechanical / Electrical Maintenance

Duties & Responsibilities

•   Ensure efficient supervision and control of underground mechanical/Electrical maintenance by allocating and managing resources (people and equipment) to attain production and engineering objectives and also ensure compliance of all safety guidelines and mines safety management systems
•   Plan and organise maintenance jobs safety and within a budget
•   Execute the planned jobs according to priorities and the availability of equipment and in accordance with the company's safety management practices
•   Diagnose, repair or replace faulty mechanical/electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components of machines & equipment and perform root cause analysis of failures
•   Perform periodical and scheduled inspection and preventive maintenance programmes to maintain underground assets and infrastructure according tom established mine maintenance and engineering standards
•   Coordinate with the planning section to set / review required maintenance / repair plans, maintenance management processes
•   Ensure that contractors are performing according to contractual obligations with the company
•   Ensure smooth job handover to the next shift, with required documentation
•   Open, review and close work orders, prepare purchase requisitions and estimates required
•   Work with other maintenance software tools as required i.e JDE etc
•   Perform other duties as reasonably assigned

Qualification Required & Experience

•   Must have a Degree/HND in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering or its equivalent from a recognised institution
•   Must have a minimum of 5 to 10 years experience in mobile maintenance field especially on underground equipment
•   Must have knowledge and understanding of the duty of care standards, occupational health & safety regulations, and mining inspection Act & Regulations
•   Ability to prepare estimates, tender document specifications for any mechanical works and analyse offers to recommend the best
•   Must be a computer literate - MS Office suite
•   Must be able to apply standards, policies and procedures relating to confidentiality and the protection of personal and sensitive data
•   Good written and oral communication and report writing skills
•   Must possess a valid Ghanaian Driver's License with good and defendive driving skills
•   Must be able to drive underground
