A reputable company in the oil and gas industry is seeking a qualified and competent individual who meets the requirements to apply for the following role:- General Manager, Finance

Job Purpose:

•   The General Manager of Finance is responsible for ensuring the financial well-being of the company by providing financial and accounting services by keeping proper books and ensuring that all company financial information is accurate and timely.

Key Responsibilities

•   Develop finance organizational strategies by contributing financial and accounting information, analysis, and recommendations to strategic thinking and direction, establishing functional objectives in line with organizational objectives
•   Establish financial operational strategies by evaluating trends, establishing critical measurement, determining revenue from the various sources, productivity, designing systems, resolving financial problems and implementing change.
•   Develop organization prospects by studying economic trends and revenue opportunities, projecting trading activities and expansion prospects in the sub-region, analyzing organization operations, identifying opportunities for improvement, cost reduction and systems enhancement, accumulating capital to fund expansion
•   Develop financial strategies by forecasting capital, facilities and staff requirement, identifying monetary resources, developing action plans
•   Monitor financial performance by measuring and analyzing results, initiating corrective actions, minimizing the impact of variances
•   Maximize return on invested funds by identifying investment community
•   Report financial status by developing forecasts, reporting results, analyzing variances, developing improvements
•   Establish and maintain policies of profit and expense control
•   Prepare and review of monthly and quarterly cash flow projections
•   Supervise the annual budget preparation process, monthly cash budget preparation process, monthly cash budget and budget and budget monitoring
•   Develop capital expenditure plans
•   Perform tax planning and strategy
•   Maintain integrity of the company's accounting system software, ensuring it remains effective and operational at all times
•   Periodically review the entire accounting and financial management systems of the company to ensure efficient capturing and processing of financial data
•   Supervise accounting staff to ensure the timely delivery of accurate and complete periodic financial reports and returns.
•   Produce, verify and submit relevant financial reports in compliance with stakeholders such as MD, Board of Directors and lenders as needed
•   Supervise the production of annual financial statements in accordance with relevant accounting standards, working with the external auditor
•   Supervise key functions such as payment of salaries and vendors and the maintenance of asset register

Qualification Required & Experience

•   Bachelor Degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Economics, Accounting
•   MBA or Masters in Finance, Accounting, or Economics
•   Membership of an accounting professional body such as ACCA, CPA
•   10+ years in Corporate Finance, Audit, Accounting, Budget, Cost & Credit Control, Forecasting and Treasury
•   At least 8 years must have been spent in a management position
•   Financial planning and strategy
•   Forecasting, Corporate Finance, Developing Budgets, Financial Skills, Dealing with Complexity
•   Managing Profitability, Strategic Planning, Vision and Quality Management
•   Promoting process improvement
•   Advanced Excel skills required
•   Experience with an ERP system is preferred
•   Excellent stakeholder management skills
•   Strong communication skills-oral, written and presentations
