Job Vacancy For General Manager At Ghana Co-operative Credit Unions Association (CUA) Ltd



A reputable non-banking financial institution is searching for a suitable candidate to fill the position of General Manager.This is an exciting but challenging position,The incumbent would have an overall responsibility of reviewing Credit Union operations to check for inadequacies, efficiencies, effectiveness and compliance with policies, procedures and regulating requirements as a preventive measure to protect the Credit Union system in the country.

The position requires an extensive understanding of CUA's history, philosophy, organisation, bye-laws and all operational procedures.The incumbent shall ensure that effective technical services are provided to CUA's affiliates with the view of making them viable and sustainable.The holder of the position will play the central role in advancing the vision of the Organisation.The General Manager shall report to the Board of Directors.

Key & Responsibilities:

Key duties and responsibilities of the General Manager will include but not limited to the following:

•   Provide overall leadership and effective management for the entire organisation.
•   Spearhead the development of the organisation agenda and pursue the strategic goals and objectives.
•   Ensure the implementation of Departmental and Chapter Plans and to ensure that targets are achieved.
•   Must supervise the review of Audit Reports from the field and discuss with the Head of Operations.
•   Receive reports from subordinates and suggest remedial action on all areas.
•   Supervise the review of monthly financial and statistical reports from Societies and submit feedback to societies.
•   Ensure effective data collection and management within the Co-operative Credit Union System.
•   Submit quarterly reports on operational activities to the National Board.
•   Foster the identification of development partners and work to promote a healthy relations
•   Ensure the implementation of Departmental and Chapter Plans and to ensure that targets are achieved.
•   Must supervise the review of Audit Reports from the field and discuss with the Head of Operations.

•   Supervise the review of monthly financial and statistical reports from Societies and submit feedback to societies.
•   Ensure effective data collection and management within the Co-operative Credit Union System.
•   Submit quarterly reports on operational activities to the National Board.
•   Foster the identification of development partners and work to promote a healthy relationship with them.
•   Develop networks and linkages between CUA and similar institutions
•   Be available for extensive travel within and outside the country for Credit Union programmes.

Qualification Required & Experience

•   BSc Administration, MBA (Accounting & Finance Option) MPA, ACCA, ICA or any other professional qualification is an added advantage
•   Extensive knowledge in the Credit Union operations, knowledge in auditing and current financial issues.
•   Demonstrate knowledge of key financial issues.
•   At least 8 years relevant post-graduation working experience in any related field OR
•   7 years working experience in the Credit Union system
•   Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
•   Articulate and analytical with excellent attention to detail.
•   Experience in working with the donor community
•   Able to work under pressure
