Job Vacancy For Group legal Counsel At KPMG Ghana



Exciting opportunity to be part of a strong Group management team. Our client, an organisation with subsidiaries in diverse industries in Ghana and Africa is seeking dynamic and accomplished professionals to lead and monitor the performance of the Group and drive its growth as a leading West Africa holding company.

Reporting to the Executive Director, you will be responsible for the legal affairs of the Group serving as legal advisor to the Executive Director, as well as providing the Group and its subsidiaries with legal representation

Key Responsibilities

•   Participate in the development of business strategy / plans that supports the Group's long term vision
•   Develop legal strategy, policies, procedures and other support systems including monitoring mechanisms in managing the legal functions of the Group
•   Advise the Executive Director on all legal matters (operations, contract negotiations, labour relations, etc.), to ensure that there are no infringements of laws, rules and regulations within countries of operations
•   Represent the Group and its employees on both Civil and Criminal matters to ensure the protection of the corporate interest at all times
•   Liaise with external solicitors or retained lawyers to provide legal advice to the Group and its subsidiaries
•   Prepare legal opinion on matters relating to the operations of the Group's seal, deeds, title documents, Legislative instruments with respect to its operations and contracts
•   Monitor and ensure that all landed properties acquired by the Group are properly documented and registered

Qualification Required & Experience

•   LLB or BA plus BL (Barrister at Law)
•   Member of the Ghana bar association or its equivalent is required

Essential Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

•   Minimum of 10 years post bar experience
•   In-depth knowledge and understanding of Labour Laws and regulations and group operations
•   Expert judgment and decision making skills
•   Excellent communication skills
•   Ability to provide leadership and direction on regulatory and ethical business conduct.
