Job Vacancy For Head Teacher At Challenging Heights (Winneba)



Challenging Heights promotes youth and family empowerment and children's rights to education and freedom from forced labour in Ghana.

Challenging Heights in national NGO with a team of 76 employees working 40 fishing and farming communities across Ghana. As part of our expansion strategy we are looking for passionate and skilled team players to join us in the following area (all roles will be in Winneba):

Title: Head Teacher

You will report to the Educational Programmes Manager.

Responsibilities

•   Provide school leadership, especially in the area of non-violent behavioural management
•   Implement school policies, including our no caning policy
•   Develop and evaluate the school’s educational programmes to ensure conformance to the standards and regulations of the Ghana Education Service
•   Promote academic excellence in all courses
•   provide a friendly school learning environment
•   guide and train teaching staff for the purposes of enhancing teaching and learning
•   administrative oversight of a school serving over 700 students

Skills/Competencies

•   Strong commitment to non-violent behavioural management
•   Strong leadership skills
•   Strong communication skills
•   Strong computer skills
•   Knowledge and skills in non-violent discipline and class management
•   Ability to coach teachers and lead by example

Qualification Required & Experience

•   A minimum of Diploma in Education (a first degree is preferred)
•   Experienced teacher for at least five years
•   Experience in being a head teacher an advantage
•   A commitment to non-violent behavioural management (no caning)
