Job Vacancy For HR Superintendent At Perseus Mining Ghana Ltd (Ayanfuri)



Perseus Mining is a dual listed (Australia, Toronto) gold miner and explorer focused on the West African region. Perseus Mining (Ghana) Limited (PMGL) has recently commissioned the world-class Edikan gold project in the Western Region of Ghana.

Edikan Gold Mine (EGM) has a current mining reserve of 3.3M oz of gold from a resource base of 4.3M oz. The Edikan processing facility has been designed as a 5.5Mtpa processing facility with the ability to expand this to 8Mtpa in the future. The plant is capable of producing at a rate of 220-270,000oz gold

Responsibilities:

The successful applicant will report to the Senior HR Manager and will have the following responsibilities;

•   Ensure HR services to the business is effective in a timely manner during the full employee life cycle
•   Be the point of contact to all employees on local HR matters
•   Ensure that all HR activities are legally compliant in all aspects of people management
•   Work in partnership with the Learning and Development Superintendent to develop and deliver training to managers and employees on varied and increasingly complex HR issues
•   Support the SHR Manager in the implementation of corporate policies across Edikan Mine Site
•   Manage and coordinate logistics for core HR processes with regard to global mobility and onboarding
•   Lead annual Performance Appraisals and Succession Planning processes
•   Provide coaching and counselling to management
•   Partner with management regarding all matters of disciplinary actions
•   Participate and collaborate with HR team on various process improvement initiatives
•   Consult and advise management on employee development, communications, and organizational design
•   Maintain harmonious environment with subordinates in the office
•   Facilitates organizational and leadership effort to resolve employee relations issues, assists senior management in the development and implementation of solutions
•   Build solid relationships with employees, management and union to achieve harmonious working relationship, and
•   Maintain regular contact with staff to explain policies and communicate management decisions

Qualification Required & Experience

•   A Bachelor's Degree in Human Resource Management or related field, a Master's degree will be an added advantage
•   Must possess good working knowledge of the labour Jaws in Ghana and experience of working with organized labour
•   Competent in Management services including performance management, employee conduct, benefits administration and other employee well being issues
•   8+ years of HR experience at a senior advisor/consultancy level
•   Hands on HR experience in the resource sector is an advantage
•   Experience of working in a multinational organistation
•   Business acumen-understanding the levers that drive business success
•   Good working knowledge of full employee life-cycle
