Asanko Gold Ghana Limited Ghana Ltd. (“AGGL”) is a fully-owned subsidiary of Asanko Gold Inc., a Company which has builtthe Asanko Gold Mine, Ghana’s newest gold mine. The vision of Asanko is to become a mid-tier gold mining company that maximizes value for all stakeholders.

AGGL is seeking to employ a suitably qualified person to fill the role below. This is a Fixed term position with a competitive work roster. Remuneration package includes attractive salary. This is a challenging and professionally rewarding opportunity that will allow the successful candidate to

Position: HR/IR Officer

Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinate and assist with recruitment and selection processes;
• Assist to develop and implement employee engagement systems and strategies to promote effective communication between management and employees;
• Conduct surveys and research on workers remuneration, labor negotiations, HR policies and procedures, employee retention schemes and make recommendations to management;
• Conduct regular engagement with employees to; explain company policies and procedures, address issues timely and report to management all unresolved ones;
• Liaise with payroll Officer to coordinate and prepare payroll information for month end salary payment;
• Draft and review policies and procedures;
• Prepare minutes of various meetings and prepare other required reports;
• Assist in the preparation of Manpower and cost budgets;
• Recommend changes to systems and procedures to improve the efficiency of the department;
• Maintains contacts with departmental and other line managers on matters concerning core HR functions and services;
• Capture and keep accurate employee data in the HR system and perform general HR Administration duties;
• Serves as a point of contact for employees on salary payment issues
• Coordinate employee disciplinary process and grievances handling;
• Ensure employee disciplinary issues are fairly and consistently implemented and in accordance with workers condition of service across all department;

Qualification Required & Experience

• Degree in Human Resources Management, Humanities or relevant qualification from a recognized tertiary institution;
• Minimum of three (3) years’ working experience in a similar position preferably in the mining industry or similar environment;
• In-depth knowledge of the Ghana Labour Act, 2003 (Act 651) and the ability to interpret provisions in the law to the work situation
• Well-developed oral and written communication skills;
• Excellent report and minutes of meetings writing skills;
• Ability to prepare proposals for Management attention;
• Knowledgeable in Disciplinary matters;
• Strong Computer skills on Ms. Word, Excel, PowerPoint and relevant applications;
• Excellent presentation skills;
• Ability to follow and maintain an effective disciplinary investigative mechanism that is fair and transparent;
• Must be hands-on and willing to work long hours to obtain required results;
• Strong analytical, interpersonal and organizational skills;
• Excellent working relationship skills and ability to relate with people of diverse culture at all levels;
• Must have good Leadership acumen and a strong desire to coach and develop others;
• Must be honest, have high level of integrity and be confidential with information;
• Must be assertive, have empathy, friendly with sound decision making skills;
• Ability to work under pressure with little supervision;
• Problem solving and decision making skills;
• Must be medically fit for the position and environment;
• Must possess a valid Ghanaian Driver’s license with a minimum of three years driving experience.
