A local government project seeks to engage the services of: Interpersonal Communication Expert Training Expert

Roles and Responsibilities

• Prepare training materials and faciliate workshops to top-level local government officials in interpersonal communication for tax collection for over 30 beneficiary MMDAs in the Central, Western and Ashanti Regions
• Contribute towards the development of a comprehensive interpersonal communication plan for the various beneficiary MMDAs to enhance their citizen engagement activities
• Provide technical direction with regard to interpersonal citizen engagement, change management and the accountability of the MMDAs towards its citizens
• Organise, develop and maintain all interpersonal communication training materials and manuals
• Execute the training programmes or workshops in all beneficiary MMDAs
• Prepare evaluation forms that can measure the outcome of each training workshop before, during and after the training programmes encountered, expertise and follow-up needed
• Perform contribute to any other communications task deemed necessary by the project coordinator

Qualification Required & Experience

Minimum qualification and skills of the interpersonal Communication Training Expert are as follows:

• University degree in a relevant field. e.g Social Sciences (Communication, Behavioral Change, Citizen Participation, Sociology, Psychology)
• Fluency in English, Akan and other local languages widely spoken in the project areas
• Excellent computer skills (MS Windows & MS Office)
• Minimum of 7 years of professional experience in interpersonal communication training, preferably at the local government level
• Proven experience with interpersonal communication, social accountability, change management, setting up and facilitating technical assistance and capacity building initiatives
• Strong planning, coordination and organizational skills
• Ability to establish and maintain effective relationship with relevant stakeholders including the selected MMDAs
• Adequate knowledge of Ghana's decentralization and local government system
• Good oral and written communication skills
• Demonstrated ability to work pro-actively and under time constraints, as well as to work self-motivated and
• Must be be a team player and be prepared to work under pressure

Location: Cape Coast with extensive travel to the Western and the Ashanti Regions
