A reputable waste management company based in Takoradi is seeking a highly motivated and qualified Laboratory Technician for employment.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

•   Conduct laboratory analysis on plant samples
•   Ensure all laboratory equipment are calibrated as scheduled
•   Collate data on laboratory analysis and incineration
•   Undertake flow meter readings and perform calculations
•   Manage and undertake inventory of chemicals used at the facility
•   Perform periodic sampling of effluent water, stabilised mud and incinerated ash for external analysis
•   Ensure all laboratory equipment are clean and in good condition and conduct routine inspection on laboratory equipment
•   Sample air particulate Matter (PM), perform PM source characterisation and Human Risk Assessment (HHRA) of inhalable particulate matters exposure
•   Maintain a good knowledge of health, safety and environmental management system requirements
•   Must be conversant with analytical techniques for BOD,COD, DO, etc and/ or oil analysis.

Qualification Required & Experience

•   A good first degree / HND in chemical engineering, chemistry, laboratory technician or a similar field with at least 2 years experience working in a water quality and/or petroleum lab

•   Ability to multi-task and communicate effectively (both written and orally)
•   Ability to work independently and make sound decisions
•   Well organised and able to pay attention to details
•   Strong analytical skills
•   Ability to work for long hours.

Remuneration: Salary will be commensurable with qualification and experience
