Job Vacancy For Legal & Corporate Affairs Country Lead



Job Purpose:

• Design and oversee the implementation of a country's corporate affairs strategy and plan which directly support the commercial objectives of the business; covering media relations, government relations, industry affairs, corporate compliance, issues management and external communications.
• Support the West Africa Business Unit and Africa Zone Legal & Corporate Affairs team in the development and delivery of the strategy for building the profile and reputation of the ABlnbev Africa/global corporate brand.
• Ensure that all legal risks to the Ghana business are neutralised.

Key Roles & Responsibilities:

• Design and implement a government relations programme that effectively manages regulatory risks
• Design and implement a media relations programme that raises the profile and builds/protects the reputation of the company among key media audiences.
• Ensure that the company has publications (both electronic and traditional) necessary to build stakeholder awareness, understanding and reputation and that it contributes to ABlnbev publications and reports.
• Ensure that key trade and industry organizations/bodies (including task forces and special groups) where the company should be represented are identified, and that the most appropriate company representatives participate.
• Where deemed absolutely necessary, work at establishing such organizations (e.g. alcohol manufacturer associations) with key stakeholders.
• Ensure that the views, positions and agenda of the company are effectively represented and supported by other members of key trade and industry bodies
• Ensure compliance with the ABlnbev compliance policy.
• Ensure that the company has robust evaluation methodologies in place to measure the impact of CA activities, initiatives and programmes and that these insights are used to determine how programmes and plans can be improved
• Ensure the company has systems and processes in place to communicate effectively with all key stakeholders in the event of a crisis and that these processes include protocols for when and how BU needs to be involved.
• Manage legal resources to ensure that there are no disruptions to business operations.

Qualification Required & Experience

Profile:

• A University Degree; a postgraduate degree will be an added advantage
• A Qualifying Certificate to practice Law in Ghana and at least 10 years post qualification experience
• Experience of highly regulated industry with a proven track record in stakeholder relations, particularly of establishing strong governmental relationships
• Strong communication skills and courage to defend views when challenged and the ability to form meaningful relationships with stakeholders as well as an ability to influence
• A comprehensive knowledge and understanding of regulatory processes, the priorities and agenda of key policy-makers; key industry associations; and Local/regional NGOs, their agenda and how they work and the interrelationship between them
• Analytical skills to interpret key trends and emerging issues in terms of their impact on the company
• Organizational skills to coordinate the effective delivery of multiple stakeholder communications and cross-functional projects
• Credibility to counsel and advise senior management on key developments within the external environment, their possible implications for the company and to make considered recommendations to address them
