Job Vacancy For Legal Manager



A leading savings and loans company headquartered in Accra seeks the following: Legal Manager

Purpose of the role:

• To provide leadership in the implementation of key processes that relate to legal matters, AML and Compliance in the company

Key Duties & Responsibilities include but not limited:

• To provide legal advice and guidance on legal matters related to the institution's operations, policies and code of conduct
• To provide guidance and assistance in the negotiation and drafts of contracts relating to a variety of areas arising from banking activities
• To ensure that all allegations of legal misconduct are responded to in a timely manner to management in an attempt to maintain integrity within the organisation
• To ensure compliance of kinds of laws and regulations for all operations by collaborating with the risk unit in wwbg
• To ensure proper documentation and filing of all legal documents and ensure they are kept confidential
• To act as the custodian of the company seal and statutory records
• To maintain the necessary corporate registers and records as well as ensures necessary information is provided to the registrar of companies
• To prepare legal letter, agreements for mergers and acquisition among others
• Handle law suits of wwbg, and secure wwbg, and its possessions from any illegal problems
• To study contracts and legal documents to make sure that they are in the interest of wwbg
• Periodically conducts audits and reviews to ensure execution of compliance standards
• Conducts interviews, scrutinize details and asks questions to make sure employees make every effort to stay compliant across a company's various departments
• When compliance problem's arise, conducts investigations to discover the roots of the issue
• Work closely with department managers to review all departmental policies for compliance issues

Qualification Required & Experience

• Must have a minimum of 3 years practical working experience in savings and loans industry
• Minimum of a degree in law. A diploma or second degree in business administration will be an added advantage
• A member of the institute of chartered secretaries and administrators with a minimum of 3 years professional legal experience, preferably acquired in a banking or service-oriented environment
• Strong knowledge about corporate laws and regulations
• Excellent reviewing and logical abilities
• Must be well organised and accurate in carrying out duties
• Ability to maintain strict confidentiality about all legal matters
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills
