The Librarian is the professional and administrative head of the Institute Library system. He is responsible for the acquisition of relevant read ng, and audio-visual materials to promote the core functions of the Institute (effective teaching, research, learning and service to community). It shall also be his responsibility to ensure a congenial environment in the libraries for reading and learning.

Terms of Appointment

•   The appointment is normally full time and applicants must be able to serve a minimum FOUR year term before reaching the age of 60 years.
•   Applicants above age 60 will have to show evidence of good health at the beginning of each academic year

Qualification Required & Experience

•   Candidates seeking appointment as Librarian must possess a Master’s degree in Library/Information Studies.
•   Must show a good track record of research and publications relating to library management
•   Must have served as Deputy Librarian or equivalent grade in a university or analogous institution for a minimum often (10) years-Must be a member of a recognized and relevant professional body
•   Must show evidence of effective professional and administrative supervision of staff
•   Must be capable of formulating and implementing policies for the development of the Institute’s library system
•   Must show success in establishing linkages with institutions both local and foreign engaged in library work that will promote the functioning of the Institute’s library system
