Job Vacancy For Logistics, Inventory and Warehouse Manager At Tigo Ghana



JOB PURPOSE

•   The Logistics, Warehouse and Inventory Manager is accountable for the planning, execution and streamlining of Logistics, Warehouse and Inventory function, and to improve on the import procurement process.
•   Supervise the planning of commercial inventory requirements (Sims, scratch cards, phones, modems etc.)  services of  the local OpCo and ensure support to the Global Procurement teams to meet local targets on cost, quality, time, guarantees and services, complying with local and MIC internal control policies
•   The Logistics and Warehouse Specialist is responsible for the tracking of all import procurements ensuring right documentation of shipments leading to a smooth clearing and warehousing of all imported equipments/spares and other items.
•   Responsible for the efficient operation of the local Logistics, warehouse and Inventory management processes and for the compliance with Procurement and Internal Control policies

Key Responsibilities

Import Procurement

•   Liaise with procurement to ensure all new import orders are captured on the indent report.
•   Update weekly the Indent Report by monitoring orders placed, orders on high seas, orders at the port and orders delivered to the factory.
•   Expedite to ensure all orders are dispatched on time to meet the expected time of arrivals agreed with the suppliers.
•   Ensure all shipping requirements mentioned on the Specific Shipping Requirement (SSR) are strictly adhered to by the suppliers.
•   Monitor and provide timely feedback to the Supply Chain Manager on the quality and performance of Suppliers in connection with Logistics requirements.
•   Attend all projects meetings providing Logistics support

Clearing

•   Ensure all consignment that arrives at the port is cleared on time; 7 days for goods at both the air and sea ports.
•   Ensure a significant reduction in storage fees and demurrage paid at the ports.
•   Ensure weekly import status reports are updated and submitted by the clearing agents
•   Meet once a week with clearing agents to track and discuss weekly shipment updates.
•   Prepare a monthly assessment report to assess the clearing agents and meet with them to discuss their performance.
•   Ensure all documentation concerning shipments is up to date to facilitate clearing of goods from the ports.
•   Maintain all third party and regulatory agencies relationships: obtaining permits, concessionary letters etc.
•   Submit to the Finance Dept. all documents required for payment to shipping lines and clearing agents.
•   Liaise with suppliers to ensure all documentations needed for Import Procurement Clearance are strictly followed as per the Specific Shipping Requirement.
•   Keep accurate data on all clearance and export transactions. Ensure visibility at all times during clearance.
•   Maintaining all third party and regulatory agencies relationships: obtaining permits, concessionary letters etc.
•   Design and maintain a world class warehouse management systems; proper housekeeping and monitoring the inventory levels.
•   Appraise services provided by clearing agents on monthly basis against the Service Level Agreements (SLAs).

Warehousing

•   Ensure all deliveries made are off-loaded within 8 hours after arrival.
•   All items in stock should be clearly identified and arranged properly.
•   Ensure all documentation is up to date on receipts and issues
•   Responsible for the stocks in the warehouse and should ensure stock take is carried out at least once in a month.
•   Prepare stock reports for management decision.
•   Ensure proper housekeeping
•   Design and maintain world class warehouse systems and practices.
•   Ensure Industrial Safety regulations are observed by subordinates at all Logistics facilities.
•   Timely, accurate reports of regular Inventory and Warehousing reports
•   Record zero variances in stock
•   Receive deliveries into right locations within 12 hours
•   Any other duties to be assigned by the P&SC Director

Qualification Required & Experience

•   Graduate level required, specialization in Business, Port and Shipping Administration, or MBA/MSC desirable plus MCIPS/MCILT
•   Minimum 5+ years of Managerial experience
•   Experience in managing teams
•   Focus on cross-functional teams
