Job Vacancy For Managing Consultant At Media Foundation for West Africa



A reputable Non-Governmental Organisation working in the area of media, free expression and human rights is in the process of setting up a consultancy unit as an added value proposition service and a source of internally generated funds. The organisation is seeking to hire a highly qualified, experienced, skilled and results-oriented individual for the position of Managing Consultant.

This is a hands-on position requiring exceptional leadership skills, analytical and people skills, services marketing aptitude, business development skills, and professional poise to earn the confidence and rSespect of businesses and potential clients, and the ability to balance and manage a team of consultants on multiple projects in a professional and timely fashion.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

•   To develop and manage a successful consultancy unit within the organisation with success rate measured through the achievement of set strategic goals and financial targets;
•   To propose administrative structures, procedures and policies to govern the consultancy unit,
•   Assist in the progressive recruitment of skilled personnel and development of terms of engagement with associates on assignments
•   Lead in business development, research, marketing, networking and contract management for the organisation's consultancy unit;
•   Develop and implement an effective professional marketing strategy for relevant services and works to be carried out within the areas of expertise of the NGO and its consultants, while steering the identification of new and relevant opportunities.
•   To design and carry out market research and public opinion surveys with the support of the organisation's pool of consultants.
•   To develop project proposal/briefs and seek clients for such jobs
•   To design, promote and carry out training programmes with the support of the organisation's pool of consultants
•   To prepare and submit professional and accurate reports to clients in a timely manner.

Qualification Required & Experience

•   Masters degree or equivalent in Journalism, Communications Studies, Marketing, Business Administration, communications/development or a related field
•   At least three years senior level consulting working experience with a reputable consultancy firm and or Public Relations, Marketing Communications firm(s);
•   Demonstrable knowledge and experience in market research, forecasting, planning and   service product development;
•   Evidence of ability to conceptualise new ideas and implement them successfully;
•   Demonstrable knowledge and experience in successfully leading the marketing and sale of services and training packages
•   Excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with professional poise to engage and work with business leaders, owners, and executives. Proficiency in French would be an advantage
•   Evidence of good understanding of business environment and trends
•   Excellent presentation and networking skills
