For over three decades, World Vision has been working with rural communities in all 10 Administrative Regions of Ghana to provide portable water, promote sanitation and hygiene practices, quality education and enhance food security.

World Vision Ghana (WVG) is looking for a highly qualified, proactive, motivated and resourceful person to fill the position of Market Facilitator.

The position is based in Kintampo with a lot of field visits.

Job Summary
Market Facilitator will work under the supervision of the SATISFY Program Manager and close collaboration with other project officers to facilitate the establishment of viable rural based agricultural enterprises, link the producer groups to markets through ICT systems and facilitate the establishment and growth of Savings Groups.

Key Responsibilities

•   Build Relationships with Farmer Based Organizations (FBO) to improve access to market.
•   Support Farmer Based Organizations to prepare Business plans to respond to market and grow their production and business.
•   Facilitate the formation of FBOs/Community Based Organisations (CBOs) as core groups for participation in identifying commodity value chains and assist in marketing business relations efforts to brokers.
•   Facilitate/train farmers on farming as business including cost benefit analysis.
•   Identify and propose innovative approaches in promoting rural rooted agricultural technologies.
•   Identify innovative ICT based approaches to access market information.
•   Sensitize and promote VSLA methodology to farmers and communities to improve pro-poor resource mobilization and access to credit.

Qualification Required & Experience

•   Bachelor’s degree in Agribusiness, Agricultural economics, Business Administration and marketing or Business development.
•   Minimum of 3 years working experience in a similar position.
•   Experience in working with cereals, pulses or horticultural promotion projects.

Critical Competencies

•   Must be a committed Christian, able to stand above denominational diversities.
•   Strong understanding of Agricultural Commodity, Value Chain, financing transformational development and frameworks.
•   Good knowledge of VSLA methodology.
•   Excellent interpersonal skills, proven networking, team-building and communication skills.
•   Ability to conduct baseline data collection using GIS tools.
•   Critical and analytical thinking skills.
•   Demonstrate commitment to the empowerment of the poor in rural communities.
•   Willingness to live and work in difficult and challenging terrains and communities.
